We know so little about everything! Anything whoever says about wh**ever, is nothing but guessing, although some support it with facts. In a distant future, history will portray as ignorant fools. Universe is so complicated we'll never fully understand it, always leaving room for spirituality.

Are you aware of what a "self refuting statement is?"

Example: "Anything whoever says about wh**ever is guessing..."

So...I can dismiss your statements at face value.

The fact is...no, the Christian is not guessing he's taking the word of the only being who could know.....God.

For crying out loud...hasn't ANYONE taken a basic philosophy or logic course in this forum?

Flat Earth?
The problem is, that so many of these people don't believe that we ever landed on the Moon, that people were created only 6000 years ago by God - who made us out of mud and who lived at the same time with the dinosaurus population.

With such a level of of brain deterioration, there shoud be no surprise, that our last e******ns 2016 went the way they did?

Or sloppy thinkers who equate the denial of the moon landing with believing that we are created instead of an accident of biology.

Thank heaven our e******n went that way!

I don't think I could stomach the idea of having a representative of the party of death in office.

Their "king" is probably our "president". Don't inconvenience them with facts. They just get more confused.

Seriously? What group (or individual) doesn't reject facts? That's normal and pretty much universal behavior.

Flat-Earthers are the absolute least of my concerns. Delusional though they may be, they don't hurt anyone, unlike other bigger and more powerful groups that work to control people that don't believe their own delusions and fact rejections.

Couldn't have said better, aflundi!

Don't you believe you are correct in what you think? Of course. If not then you wouldn't be a rational thinker (believing something you know is false)

If you were not narrow in your thinking you wouldn't have responded to me either...you'd assume that my conclusion was just as valid as yours...right?

I'm sorry if you didn't like it...that's too bad but if there is t***h (and I think that there is) then we don't get to "make it up as we go along" and still call ourselves Christian.

A Christian believes what God has said and he didn't say "oh...Adam and Eve?...they are just fictional representations of a whole race..."

So while I'm sorry that you disbelieve his word, I'm not sorry for correcting you. T***h, by definition, is narrow.
Don't you believe you are correct in what you thin... (show quote)

Where in all of that leads you to believe that I don't believe in God. The Bible was written by man (King James) for our purpose, for what purpose, don't forget the Bible was carried down by mouth for thousand of years before Christ. You want to take the Bible literally, be my guest, but don't condemn me to HELL because I do not agree with what you believe. If you think King James didn't take liberties with the Bible, you
be wrong, especially when it came to the church and the government, as long as they get their riches, to hell with the rest of us, and whats funny is the Bible says God is on their side.

God can be expressed by one infinitely long formula, consisting of 'ones' and 'zeroes'...

I never said you didn't believe in God I said the following "A Christian believes what God has said" which you aren't doing.

I believe you believe in a god of your own making (one who doesn't care about t***h but allows you to make up wh**ever suits you.)

Ignorance.

The bible was written by God through men.

That's the orthodox Christian position.

I'm well versed on the history and t***smission of the text of the bible.

I wouldn't use the term "literally" I'd say "as it was intended to be understood" because there is a lot of different kinds of literature in it; poetry, didactic, history...etc. I take each in the normal fashion.

As far as condemning you to hell...that's God's department, I only point out that the mark of a Christian isn't making things up instead of believing what God has said.

That's just basic 101 Christianity.

If you don't like that I can't help it.

I couldn't care less about a 17th century english t***slation and the fact that you went there tells me that you know jack crap about the subject.

Ricardo, there were no clocks or calendars in the beginning, to God a day was like a thousand years and a thousand years like a day. Adam and Eve, I believe Adam was mankind and Eve was womankind, not two
people, but many. How else would Cane take off to another land (Nod) and there find himself a wife. Evolution has nothing to do with it.

true, because biblical creation is a fairy tale. and
that's still only 7000 years, and creation of adam & eve ex nihilo -- - you're using the bible to prove the bible, a common fallacy. FACTS show the earth to be billions of years old, with life evolving over hundreds of millions of years

now, if you want to say that the bible story is an allegory for millions of years of evolution, I'd have no argument and this is in fact what mainline religions say. it's only literalist fundamentalist who cant accept the FACT of evolution

Assertion.

Lol...he didn't use the bible to prove the bible, he stated facts that come from the bible...just like you would state your "facts" that come from your "authoritative" source.

No they don't. The evidence shows that the earth was created about 6000 years ago by a benevolent Creator God out of nothing.

Now...we've both asserted something, the question is...which one of us is using sound reasoning for our position?

If they said that they'd be in error because it doesn't. It's very clear about the timeline and how it came to be.

Professing Christians who try and compromise with current secular ideas about the distant past are in error and should quit it. Even evolutionists know that's a bunk position.
