The image is wonderful but, for me, the sky is just a bit over-processed.

I see no reason to disagree with you, Tommy

Very nice. I like the composition and the processing. The intensity of the sky adds to the feeling of the circle. Focus is awesome. Very good for a large print.

Like the angle you chose Graham. The circle seems in very good order - better than some I’ve seen. Tall stones too. Love the processing and colours, very nicely done.

Thanks, Dave,
The angle chosen was to accentuate the height of the stones. The processing was aimed at showing the texture of the stones while imparting a touch of "otherworldly" to the whole scene.

It looks like you are getting some slight wide angle distortion. I would try to get rid of this and get the stones that should be standing up straight to stand up straight. As they have been there for four thousand years, I know some of them haven't been straight for a long time. I love standing stones and think this is a great shot. Scotland next fall. Can't wait.

Thanks, Cameron, the wide angle distortion was deliberate, to give the effect of the stones reaching and clawing into the sky. I have plenty without W/A distortion if you would like to see them

EDIT: I see you are from Alaska so the midges won't be too much of a problem for you, or the rain!

I think the WA distortion works. I was mostly just hoping you were aware of it-and you were. We go to England and Scotland fairly often for the nice weather. Ring of Brodgar, here we come.
