I do love Michigan, although a few years ago my buddy had to save me from drowning in the Manistee while I was kayaking. Got trapped under fallen branches on a turn in the river. Still had a great trip.

It was. I was wearing a t-shirt too big for me and when I took the turn too wide the kayak went over and the tail of the shirt got wrapped abound branches under the water. I manage to get loose just as my friend came swimming over after beaching his canoe. Later, sitting outside by the fire and drinking a beer was sweet indeed.

Wow...I have canoed the Rifle River and the Au Sable River, never had anything like that happen! I have never kayaked...I would have to change my swim suit if that happened to me!!!
