I purchase bodies new USA, and lenses used.
Let us know what you finally decide. Interesting discussion on this subject.
Yes I agree a very interesting discussion. I really appreciate all the feedback. I ended up buying a US model NikonD850 from B&H Photo. From New York to Montana in two days! Like some of you I often buy lenses used but since I hope this camera will last me as long as my last one I decided to just bite the bullet and buy USA. By the way, It is awesome!! However, stay tuned for a new topic as I have yet to figure out how to get my older iMac to download the huge files. I suspect it is because I am using iPhoto and it cannot handle the size of the raw files it downloads the LargeJPEG’s just fine.

My nikon D750 is 18 mo. old. The shutter release button has failed. The camera is out of
warranty. It was sent to the factory for repair. If I had purchased grey Nikon would not repair
it and I would have a dead camera. I would never purchase a grey market camera.
Yes, Nikon would repair it, or just about any skilled camera repair shop would repair it.

Personally, if it was a cheap or used camera, I would probably do it. If you are laying down some serious cash for a new model, I would avoid grey market.
I bought a Canon EOS 5DSr "grey market" a few years ago. Not only have I never had a single problem with the camera, it still works as good as the day I got it and I saved several hundred off the USA retail price and no PA state sales tax. I'm not recommending everyone do this. It was a case of a good deal came up at the right time and I went for it. As I have stated before, none of my Nikon gear is grey.
