Two more complex 3D images

You will need a pair of anaglyph glasses to view in 3D. On your computer, press F11 for a full screen view.

I captured these as image pairs within a minute of each other on the way home this afternoon.

In both cases the complexity is due to the overlapping elements, he fact that some of the branches were very close to the camera, the movement of the water and the need to level each pair (I used the reflections).

Nice examples of 3D camera technique especially the first post.

Thank you. I'm sure you can appreciate the technical challenges of these shots.

They were captured on a Fuji X100T that I have had for less than a week. It has a fixed 23mm (35mm full frame equivalent) lens and I made no particular effort to control the separation between the left and right eye image perspective. I needed to level each pair based on whatever common elements appeared in each image. In this case, I picked a pair of points that appeared in each image as both a real and reflected (in the water) spot to provide a vertical reference for the leveling.

The alignment was based on an easily identified point in the left and right view. The apparent depth of the image had already been arbitrarily determined by the separation in distance of the position of the camera from the left and right eye view.

The one thing I found a but odd was that the StereoPhoto Maker software seemed to load the two images in a different order than I expected. To get the stereo correctly oriented, I needed to swap what it originally assumed were the left an right images. That's only happened a couple of times before and I'm not sure what caused it. Just being aware that it might happen is sufficient warning to check the resulting combined image.
