This species, according to my dad, was put on Earth so man wouldn't starve. They seem to have no fear of man but actually/maybe believe themselves to be so we'll hidden that they're safe. They are often referred to as fool hens. After one deer hunt many years ago I returned to my camper to find a pair occupying the hood of my truck. I went about my routine putting my bow in my truck and getting ready to leave then got nearly nose to nose with the hen and told her she'd better move on, which she and her mate did. 'Smart' bird, obeying a command like that.
