The Simplon Pass (2,005 m or 6,578 ft) is a high mountain pass between the Pennine Alps and the Lepontine Alps in Switzerland. It connects Brig in the canton of Valais with Domodossola in Piedmont (Italy). The pass itself and the villages on each side of it, such as Gondo, are in Switzerland. The Simplon Tunnel was built beneath the vicinity of the pass in the early 20th century to carry rail traffic between the two countries. We traveled this magnificent pass on our way from Zermatt to Lake Maggiore in Italy. I hope you enjoy these images which were all taken from the tour bus window using a Nikon D7200 and a Nikon 18-300 lens at 1/500 sec. I should have used a higher speed since some really nice images had blurred foregrounds.

What a beautiful set. Nicely done.
Nice set - I particularly like #5 for the middle band of lighting separating the foreground from the background just at the first ridge.

Thanks Mike. I appreciate your looking in.
Steady hands, Mark. Out a bus window no less. My fave is #9.
