I estimate the cost at $300,000 per household. Initially, then will go up from there.

Welcome to Venezuela. This harkens the end to the American dream. The end of America.

Those Democrats that seem bent on Socialism seem to fail to notice it hasn't worked in any country that has had that system of government forced upon it. If one just looks at the history of this country, the U.S., it failed here in the 1600s.

Universal Healthcare works in many countries. Although you may consider it socialism if you think about it there are many socialists programs already in the United States. The interstate highways, for instance.
Don't you think it would be nice if one of your family members became seriously ill, that they would be able to get treatment without you going into debt and losing your home?

The other part of your post seems odd. If the American people want universal healthcare, how is that a government that is forced on them? The other piece is that in the 1600's there was no United States so that really doesn't make sense at all.
Are you comparing colonial America to today?

I would never live in a country that didn't have universal health care. I never have to worry for myself or my family, it sure takes a burden off your shoulders. Sure we pay more taxes but it is worth it and compared to the states we also live 3-4 years longer. Plus our drugs are a fraction of the cost Americans pay. When you turn 65 drugs are paid for by the government.

You are lucky to live in a civilized society.

Let me ask you this Frank, if I need medical care why should I be able to seize your assets in order to save mine?

Because in a civilized society we're all in this thing together.
Besides, you already do it. You pay for health insurance which you may or may not use. Meanwhile, some sick person is drawing money from that pool of assets to pay for their medical treatment.
The only difference between the two is in one a private corporation rakes off profits from your payments and in the other, the government is the administrator.
You can call it socialist if you want but all it really is is health insurance.
The upside. Your insurance doesn't run out. There's no lifetime maximum and you won't lose your home and all your assets to pay medical bills.
Stop calling it socialism and call it National Health Insurance and maybe that will help you get over it.

Regarding the interstate highway as socialist is nonsense. It is not mandatory to use the interstate hgwy. One can use state or local roads if they wish. Those ass hole ultra l*****ts in the House, don't just want universal health care. They want the end of private health insurance, the end of insurance companies coverinh health care, thus 1/2 the population would be FORCED to loose their current insurance. There atre VERY few things that I want the government to FORCE me to do. And perhaps even more importantly is this fact---the more power that the government gets the morfe power they want. In other words where does it stop?

Yes, I [PAY] for health insurance, I don't seize your assets to protect mine.

Helping those who have no assets is an entirely different issue.

If the state really wanted to fix this they would come up with a separate insurance company for the self employed and uninsurable and price it at a national average cost, if you want it buy it.

If you don't buy it then you get nothing until your own assets are gone.

This idea of someone having the right to seize another assets to protect their own is legalized robbery.

Apply it to anything else and see how ridiculous it is.

What if my car engine blows up and I have the assets to pay for it, but I don't want to so I seize your assets?

What if I'm at a restaurant and I'm hungry and have the money to pay, but I don't want to ... so I seize your lunch?

See how criminal that is Frank?

Do you EVER think any of this jibba jabba through?

If it's barbaric to want to have the federal government to have as little control over me as possible, count me in.

Yes, Louise, I do think it through. You, on the other hand believe what you believe whether it's supported by facts or not.
I give up with you. Go back to the WWE and get a hug from Lou Albano or whoever your hero is.
You're dead to me.
