I have heard that the focus system on this body is slow on this body. Can anyone clear this up for me. I have a chance to get one new in the box from a friend of mine who won this in a raffel who don't know which end of it to look thru. If I don't want it then he will sell it on eBay. I can get it for peanuts.if all it will do is frustrate me then I don't want it.
Thanks in advance for the feedback

The MII is a fine camera. The autofocus is slower than my 7D but nowhere near a level which is frustrating.
There are plenty of reviews of this camera on the web.
If I get the cash up to buy a 1Dx then I will sell my 7D and keep the 5D MII.

I agree as well the mkII is a wonderfull camera, I use a mk II, mkIII and a 7d and would not part with any of them. Grab it !!
Get it, get it, get it!!!!!!
There is no point having this camera and then using bottom end kit lenses with it. Great results with semi decent glass and fantastic results with pro glass.
I have read lots about it having poor AF and still find it hard to understand what people are talking about.
The AF has never been an issue for me. It will struggle in very low light with lack of contrasting subjects but otherwise the blinkies light up fast and bright. Surely all bodies will struggle in these conditions. Have not used a 7D in low light to compare it to but if people are saying the 7D is way faster this must be a pretty awesome body. I want a MK III now but would consider a second II to replace my MK I for backup if the price was right.

Can't see why you still use a II when you got a III and a 7d
I have a 5D Mk II. Absolutely love it. I looked at buying a Mk III recently, and determined it was not worth the money to me. So, I am actively looking for another 5D Mk II.
If you don't buy this from your friend, let me know and I will be plum happy to buy it. . .just to keep my other one company, don't you know!
