Need some help here... I recently bought a Nikon P510 as a backup camera. It came with a lens cover, of course, but as most of my photography is done outside, I like to keep a skylight lens on my cameras to prevent scratching my lenses... much cheaper to replace if necessary. It should take a 52mm skylight, but I can't seem to make one work. Does anyone know if this camera can even take this kind of lens? Is there any alternative if it can't?
There aren't any threads on the front of the lens so the only way to mount a filter is tape or similar Mc Iver approach. Yeah, I know it looks like there are threads, but those are concentric rings for cosmetic purpose, not functional.
What looks like threads are just for the lens cap to grip but you can buy a 67MM Lens adapter converter for Nikon Coolpix P510.
Go to E-bay and get you a Kiwi 67mm adapter for Nikon P500 and P510 about 30 bucks.
Yeah, I just purchased the Nikon P510, and I don't think it takes easily to any filters. I guess the responses above might prove me wrong. Oh well, lemme know if it works.
