A comment about a new hard drive causes me to comment on the Kodak Picture Keeper that I recently purchased. Right now I have nearly 30,000 photos on file and I am digitalizing about 5000 additional slides taken prior to the digital age. I have five external hard drives attached to my desk-top computer. In the past I have lost photos due to crashed hard drives. The Kodak Picture Keeper automatically finds photos on my computer, loads them and then when re-connected locates all new photos or changed photos since its last visit. I do not have to do a thing. It is a relief to have such a simple, small back-up system. Of course I still maintain the originals on the other back-up drives.

I thought Kodak was going belly up.

Only parts of it. They're trying to raise money by selling thousands of patents. Whatever they do, it will be a struggle because of the shadow of "Going Out of Business."
I hope they survive.
