As far as Adobe Enhance feature, Windows Photos has an Enhance setting in their edits, and I haven't found it that useful. Mostly I use LR but rarely use even their presets. I prefer my own tinkering.

Downloaded Topaz Sharpen AI yesterday and have been playing with it since. It is processer intensive. Not since Windows 3.1 have I had an application that runs slower. My current machine is a Windows 10 platform with 8 gigs of ram and an NVIDIA graphics card. IMHO If you want a lot of control this is not the app for you. If you want ease of operation and don't mind the processing time wait this is probably a good app for you. Personally I have 28 days to decide. Don't know what I'll do yet.

I can post some pictures if anyone is interested.

There was a discussion a while ago about an AI program that lets you work with JPEG as if it were raw. Now Topaz has an AI product for sharpening - Topaz Sharpen AI. It's a free download for Topaz customers after you sign in.

EDIT: I see it's Topaz that sells JPEG to RAW AI.

Topaz has a great marketing department BUT I've found their software doesn't live up to the hype!

I've tried their JPEG 2 RAW, AI GigaPixel and most recent AI Sharpen. None of the packages do anything outstanding that can't be done equally well by other software you might already own.

Downloaded Topaz Sharpen AI yesterday and have bee... (show quote)

...I'll betcha if you double, or more, your RAM you'll see a significant speed jump. Also, even though your card is "Nvidia" it might not be enough. I run 32 GB RAM and a Nvidia 1080 card on Win 10 with an i7 chip...plenty of pop, but even that system is getting old...

Jerry,

I don't see the free download. I am a Topaz customer. Can you point to a link?

This is the link I get: https://topazlabs.com/sharpen-ai/ It says it is on sale for $60.

You have to be an owner of Topaz InFocus to qualify for the free SharpenAI. If you are a registered owner you will get an email with a coupon for $59.99 off. It's a standalone plugin and it's really, really slow. It's made mostly for out of focus images due to movement. I wasn't impressed with my initial tests. I also own AIClear and I think that program is the greatest thing since sliced bread. Not sure why Topaz felt they needed both right now.

I tried it last night on the eyes of some kids and I really liked it. It does indeed sharpen slightly blurry photos (it will not "unbokeh" your child). It is also very taxing on the computer RAM. I will keep it and continue to use it on portraits where I really need the sharpness. But because of the processing time, it is not for 25-30 of my sports images--unless you have the time and nothing else to do. I would still recommend it because it does not add the usual over sharpening artifacts that PS and LR add to an image. It visibly sharpened eyes, eyelashes, and hair on the test images that I used it on and I did not detect the highly contrasty edges present in other software. Give it a trial run.....you've spent more on terrible dinners.....

Allegedly if you own the Topaz in Focus plug in, Sharpen A1, it should be an upgrade, I have not found a way to get the update to install, and I did purchase a stand alone copy of A1. Topaz is not the most user friendly company to get help from

If you purchased In Focus there is a coupon in your Dashboard. If you purchase AI, go to checkout click the coupon box and the cost should go to zero. Then just continue with purchase routine.

I just downloaded the 30 trial today. I'm using it on my older HP i7 laptop with maxed RAM. Takes forever to process. Since I only have my laptop here in FL, I'll have to wait until I get home & use it on my Dell XPS 8900.
If it works faster, I'll buy it. Otherwise, I'll stick with what I got.

go to the top left, under files, go to preferences, and change the default processing setting from GPU, to CPU-makes a big difference.
