I saw the same thing. Something about the hand grip rubber. It is not the first recall for this model. Hopefully it will be the last.

That's true, it's about the hand grip rubber. Apparently, according to what I read, that rubber can turn white in color because of a certain chemical used it its manufacture.
As the piece read further, Canon intends to replace the rubber.
