Any Aftershot pro 3 users? and what do you think of the software?

It's very inexpensive when on sale but mediocre compared to just about any of the competition. I played with it for a couple of weeks when I compared eight different post processing software packages. You'd be far better off considering On1, Luminar, and Affinity Photo as alternative mid level, mid priced, post processing programs. After shot Pro has a weak implementation of tools and results in mostly poor to mediocre final images. In any competition someone has to come in last, and in this case it's After shot Pro.
Love it and no monthly fees

Tried it and did not think it was as good as Raw Therapee. Might be just my lack of familiarity so I stick with what I know.

I didn't "hate" any of the software I tested. I evaluated 8 programs based on identical criteria and made a judgement based on the usability and the results. I treated Lightroom and Photoshop as a single package because they are so often used together. Over a two month period I evaluated and compared Lightroom/PhotoShop, PS Elements, ON1, Luminar, DXO PhotoLab, Affinity Photo, Capture One Pro 11 and AfterShot Pro 3. Among other things I was a professional software developer and tester before retirement.
I used the same test bed of Canon raw images with similar adjustments in all the programs, and spent an average of 15 solid hours for each application learning the features and how to get the best from them. There are many similarities between most post processing programs so learning new ones is not that difficult or time consuming once you are familiar with the general paradigm. Unfortunately AfterShot Pro 3 did much more poorly than any of the other programs I tested. Some of the limiting factors were the quality of the raw conversions, the limited range and quality of some of the tools, and some important tools which are missing in AfterShot Pro. This doesn't mean that AfterShot Pro is valueless or junk, but right now there are much better choices. Perhaps future versions will be more competitive.
I'm sorry if you felt insulted by my test results, but they are what they are. Have you had the opportunity of performing any extensive comparisons between AfterShot Pro 3 and any of it's competition?
On1 and Capture One recommended

Capture One Pro is, of course, expensive, top of the line, professional level software. ON1 is actually quite good with a lot of potential at a very competitive price point.
Sorry but, poor to mediocre shots sounds like you were calling it junk to me. There will always be something better, it's all about how much money you want to spend and what works for your needs. For me, I'm very happy with the results I'm getting with it.

Nothing wrong with using what works for you, especially when Aftershot Pro is on sale. But the reality is that among all the commercial post processing software I tested AfterShot Pro came in at the bottom, and it wasn't even close.

If money is a factor I suggest you download the free 30-day full evaluation versions of ON1, Affinity Photo and Luminar to see which one meeting your requirements. Affinity Photo particularly has a lot of interesting special effects if that is important to you. If you want professional level software conversions of raw files then the choices, in no particular order, are Adobe's Lightroom CC, Phase One's Capture One Pro 12, and DXO's PhotoLab Elite 2.1 with the FilmPack Elite and Viewpoint add-ins.
