It has been colder and wetter than normal in Arizona this winter. Over the last few days we have had excessive rain in Apache Junction and northern AZ has had an abundance of snow. The snow was all at higher elevations but came very close to Apache Junction. As shown in this photo of Superstition Mountain taken Saturday February 23, 2019 at 1:37 PM from my favorite spot about a mile from the foot of the mountain. This is the most snow I have seen on Superstition Mountain in 8 years. Only three of those years has there been any snow on the mountain. A normal winter season will have very little to no snow on the mountain. Enjoy and Have a GREAT DAY.

Dear Jeff,
Thank you taking a wonderful photograph of what I think is 'Flatiron'. As an Ahwatukee resident, I appreciate seeing this phenomenon. Nice work.

Nice shot, Jeff. I spent a day wandering about in that area a couple of springs ago. Would have loved to see the mountain dressed in white.
Nice one, especially since it is a rare occurrence.
And it got better the next day. Here is my view from nearby east Mesa.

Great photo Jeff. I spent the weekend photographing the Lost Dutchman Days festivities but would have been much happier out shooting the mountain and Four Peaks.

Excellent! I lived in Phoenix and didn't even know it could snow there or any where south of Mogollon Rim. Stay warm

Just a tad more snow but rather hazy. I made the trip to my favorite spot three times before I got my photo. Thanks for stopping by.

Thanks Jack for viewing my image and your comments. I didn't get Four Peaks. Spent all my time at the base of SS Mtn. Have a GREAT DAY!

Thanks for viewing my image and your comment. It is rather awesome with the snow, especially since it doesn't happen too often. Have a GREAT DAY!

Thanks Jerry for viewing the photo and your kind comment. Yes it is kind of rare. Have to get the shot quick because the snow doesn't usually stay up there very long.

Thanks for viewing and your comment. Lots of folks here have never seen snow on SS Mtn.
Have a GREAT DAY!
