Attended the daytime lunar new year celebration two weeks ago with my grandsons, son and about 15 members of the the local photo group I belong to. These photos are all from that day, all pictures were taken with Canon 77D and ef-s18-55 lens. In addition to that lens I had two others in my pockets but found they weren't necessary. The biggest challenge was the ever moving hordes of people and fireworks going off around your feet.
Unlike the parades I accustomed to the Lion Dance moves from one merchant to an other. At each location there are strings of fire crackers with lettuce hung for the lion's to eat. Sometimes the fire crackers are a little too close to the lettuce.
Typical fireworks in front of business
Few of the locals relaxing in the sun
Large crowd with lion on fire escape
The two women were interesting but the man in the shadows made this
Yes it was loud
He got too close the the fire crackers
The smoke blocked the landscape
This vendor followed the parade, I'm sure he wished he made different choices in life.
Loved seeing the pictures of the celebration! The one of the shadow man is my favorite.
Thanks sadela the man standing in the shadows gives this photo a different vibe.
I'm going to post one more time here but it will be a series of three photos taken in a total of five seconds. I saw something in a crowd and fired off a series of shots, there's a fourth but it doesn't add anything.
What I get from this was gossip, the first two the story is being told, the third is the reaction to something scandalous.
If anyone has any input to the photos fire away, I don't take offence. Tomorrow night I present my photos to a local group where I and many others will be eviscerated at the monthly gathering.
Quick eye to catch the chain of what might an interesting story!
