I had my long lens (600mm + 1.4X TC) set up to photograph birds near the bird feeder when four deer decide to eat the seed, blocking my view.

Zero cropping because it was so tight on the deer's face.

Nice capture Dave.

I just read something the other day about a lot of areas having a problem with wasting in deer which is similar to mad cow disease. I didn't pay a whole lot of attention to it because I don't hunt and I don't care for deer meat anyway. I guess it might be good info for hunters though.

I read the same thing. In past years I have seen the deer look pathetically skinny. This year it has been very cold with a lot of snow, yet the deer look very fat and healthy.

Here is a link to a map of problem areas. Kind of a scary problem.

Makes me glad I hunt them with my camera and do not eat them.

WoW.....This time it didn't take 100 shots to get a good one.
Very captivating. She looks like she's questioning why you are in her space and invading her location.

Actually, the camera was still set set up to take photos of birds in the snow. The exposure compensation was set to plus 1.3 that slightly overexposed the images but because the light was to soft from the cloudy sky and the were no bright objects in the image, I was easily able to correct for the exposure error in post processing.

I was asking her the same question. She was only 20 feet from my window. Yes, I took these photos through a closed window. She was dressed in a fur coat but I was in my boxer shorts. LOL

Nature photography is my thing. Lucky for me I live in the middle of nature.
