Marines planted this f**g a few days after landing on Iwo Jima. The battle would go on after that for nearly a month before that island was secured.

Many never came home, including half of those in the photo.

Thankfully, Joe was there to capture the moment.

For those who have served, all the best.

Veterans... experience life in the service no other can understand.

No ribbons for anything in Civilian life. If an HR or hiring manager was not military, the sacrifices that veteran made are simply unknowable.

They will never know the maturity, dedication and leadership that individual can contribute. They should instinctively know this. Somehow it is lost on them.

One can grow up fast in the service, and it can end even faster.

Show respect for all Veterans. The free should always pray for the brave.

You realize you have mental issues, right? We all realize it little tommie. Big time mental issues. Each day you sink a little lower on the petty crap and snide remarks. Sucks to be you.

As Secretary of the Navy, James Forrestal stated after watching the f**g raising from offshore:

Quote:
The raising of that f**g on Suribachi will guarantee a Marine Corps for the next 500 years

And perhaps the most succinct quote, given by Admiral Chester E. Nimitz:

Quote:
Uncommon valor was a common virtue

All gave some, some gave all.

Are you a veteran? Did you serve? Is there some universe where your opinion is valid?
