No snow this morning ...
Good morning folks. The snow is gone and it feels like Spring.
Thank you all for looking and commenting. All comments are appreciated.
Greg - What you see is just about what the original would look like. The images I post are edited for the small size and are reduced to about 150kb files in the process.
Otiw - It has nothing to do with me or the camera. All the credit goes to the birds and Mother Nature. These were taken with the Nikon D850 and Nikkor 400mm F/2.8.
Dennis - I have one feeder which is nothing more than a 12" x 12" plywood tray with occasional add-ons. I have positioned landing spots where the birds wait their turn. These were all shot from inside my garagewith the winow open. The birds see me about 15 to 20 feet from them. Sorry, but not really in the wild, but not in captivity either. I just let my 'pets' run free.

I appreciate the confession about, in the wild, but my comment was meant to show they were all in bushes etc. rather than on a feeder. At least it gives the look of wilderness, sort of.

I confessed a long time ago. I started a thread titled "Keep the birds at the feeder, but keep the feeder out of the picture". I showed how I put the feeder together with flag pole holders on the sides so branches could be easily changed. It is portable, so in nice weather I move it around the yard for different backgrounds.
I used to take birds at the feeder pictures. When I bought my first Nikon, an F100, there was a list of recommended books. I ordered one authored by Moose Peterson in which the first chapter was about not showing the feeders. Years later I took a workshop with Moose where we spent an afternoon finding appropriate backgrounds for photographing his stuffed Moose, no matter where he dropped it. Those two ideas stuck!

Thanks very much for the WOW.
I could be using your user name. I cherish the second one, but clearly remember why I was awarded the first.
