Beautifully shot. Great light. The two people add both scale and, in the woman's red slacks, an interesting injection of color.

A great capture Geoff - and love the historical significance.

I absolutely love this pic, which is made extra special knowing where it is - I sailed my boat down the Rhone in 2011 and visited both Arles and Avignon. Thanks for the memory.

Thank you Delderby, We always make for Arles when we are in Provence but on this occasion we were actually on a river cruse along the Rhone from Lyon at the time and Arles was one of the stops, so I can really relate to your amazing trip in your sailing boat, did you come up through the Camargue from the coast?

Thans Steve, I can only agree, living only a few hours from France we do pop over a lot and from the English Channel to the Mediterranean and East To West I have never been such for a photo opportunity, for me France is up there with Scotland when I am looking for great photographic location.

Cheers Jack, I do like to get people in any shot of possible, especially street photography, I feel that add a sense of reality and breath life in to a scene?

Thanks a lot Bill, It is quite surreal knowing who has walked streets such as these, and to stand in the grounds of the hospital and ponder over the troubled genius that once resided in its tranquil gardens, and then wander the streets to the nearby cafes he frequented and often captured in oil on canvas for us all to marvel at all these years later.

I always wonder how a photo has been processed. This one has a different look to it from most of your others. My guess would be that you blended in a gray scale layer? Magicians are not supposed to reveal their secrets!

LOL, There's no fooling a fellow fooler. I just loved the whole mood of this place I decided to accentuate all that I was feeling just standing there, so yes I did convert to GS and bring back the colour as required, which for me captured all the emotions of that moment. Thanks for your feedback, its always appreciated,

Geoff
