Thank you. We had a boston before we got him that we had lost a few months prior. I miss him something terrible. I kept looking at the rescue pages, and my husband finally said "Oh, just go out and get another boston!!" One of his friends sent me a link to Hoggy's shelter picture, and I contacted them and asked about adoption. He was on stray hold, so we had to wait. I called to see about coming to meet him, and got told that it was not a good idea, he was terribly aggressive, they'd had to bring him in on a catch pole, and it took 2 people to clean his pen because he would attack them. He was going to have to go to a rescue only. Fast forward 10 days, I get a call at my office wanting to verify an adoption application (I manage a vet office). When they found out I was the one wanting to get the little bug eyed goober, they told me he was doing much better, and I could have him. Went down to meet him, and he charged the fence and growled at me. Hmmm....this was not off to a good start. The lady at the shelter said "Let's get him out of the cage, he's totally different!!" Took him into the intro room and he turned into a little fuzzy pinball. Bouncing off the walls, in my lap, off the walls, across my back, back in my lap, his little stubby tail going like crazy. And now, I don't think I can even make him growl, even playing. He'll grumble at dear hubby if he tries to pick him up when he's on my lap, but other than that, he's just awesome. Since then we've adopted another shelter dog, a wire hair JRT that had an aggression history as well. But he changed so much since he came home. It's like they know they've been given a second chance. We still don't trust him with strangers, he's a little iffy....but with us he's great.
Thank you. We had a boston before we got him that... (
