I think it is a brilliant move by Canon to get folks on the new bandwagon. Price point is in a good spot appealing to folks who already own a good amt. of older glass and itching to get their feet wet in FF for only a 99.00 investment in an adapter. Once on the FF R wagon they are hoping additional R lenses will be purchased as well as possible body upgrades in the future. Even though I am now doing Olympus for various reasons , the current and lower future price points of this body are making it pretty irresistible esp.if you want to get your feet wet in FF Canon and already have a lot of L lenses etc...

Why would you want to use canon lenses on a sony with an adaptor, when there are plenty of great native lenses for it...I hate that argument. Buy native lenses...oh wait...it's canon that you have to adapt since they don't have a lot of native lenses right now.

Because that argument has been used in this forum over and over while bashing Canon.

Also the R system opens up the use of all your old FD, FL and SLR R lenses.
Pretty sweet.

There are currently 4 RF lenses available with Canon just announcing another 6 to be released later this year. Not bad considering that the RF has only been on the market for 4 months. There will be no shortage of native lenses. The ability to easily use EF and EF-S lenses is just a bonus. As it stands right now I don't believe there is a camera on the market that has the lenses available to use that the RF mount Canons do. From incredibly inexpensive to incredibly costly.
