I drove out to Magee Marsh this morning and found this Broad-winged Hawk sitting on the wire along Rt2. Your not supposed to stop alone the road but I checked the rear view and it was clear so I stopped and got the shot. As I drove into Magee I found the eagle sitting away from the nest. I waited a short while since I knew something would happen and it did. I left and as I was driving out I found 2 eagles sitting on one branch. Upon returning I got the Red-tailed Hawk And then I found a eagle sitting in a tree in front light. Dumb luck is my best feature.

Terrific shots. Looks as though the wind is honking in a couple of these shots. Gary

Its about 30 miles east of my house in Toledo, Ohio. Its on Route 2, as you go past Ottawa National Wildlife Refuge the next left turn goes into Magee.

I used my Nikkor 600mmF:4G VR and D810 camera for the eagles. For the Broad-winged Hawk I used my 200~500mmF:5.6 G VR and the D810

Thanks for the reply. Good lesson on never leaving home without your camera!

Also I got the eagle and its nictitating membrane coming over its eye. Its kind of like a eye lash we have. they blink to get dirt and other stuff off its eye.

Very good shots Larry. You have motivated me to get out there before the leaves begin to block the view.
