Sekonic L-478D lightmeter

I have been searching the internet including UHH for several hours attempting to call some tech support (paid or not) regarding the Sekonic L478-D incident light meter. I do not have any difficulty with ambient readings. I am having a horrible time trying to get a good f-stop reading with remote flash mode. It's reading something but not in f-stop. I've read and re-read the manual and watched a number of tutotials and nothing relate, at least to me. I seldom use flash/strobes and I have a need to get a good read. If you know anyone who provides tech support by phone (paid or not) please respond. I've done everything I can to help myself.

Yes.
I think I have it figured out. I have to do a test shoot to determine. I am just surprised at how difficult it is to get help with a light meter.
In a perfect world, things go wrong. Sometimes it's a brain cloud and sometimes it's mechanical.

David, what is the year this flash was sold? Digital cameras have a different sync than film when triggering remote flash. This may have something to do with it. I suggest you email Gary Friedman with your question. He has several pages in several of his books discussing such challenges. Gary typically answers email quickly and politely. gary@friedmanarchives.com Having said that, please Hogs don't flood Gary with every question you have. If you would like to know more about your camera and photography than the 15 page users manual you received with that $2500 body, buy Gary's 600-700 page book.
