May 2010, Porto Valtravaglia, Italy, and a peaceful spring scene at Lago Maggiore.
This view to the north over Cannero Riviera on the far shore shows a fisherman in Italy and the snow-capped mountains in Switzerland.
A redo of a Nikon D60 JPG using ACR and cropped for wider landscape viewing.
Best in download, critiques always welcome.
ISO 110, f/10, 1/250, 32mm (kit lens, handheld).
Very nice in the download view.
The Fishermans location in the frame is very powerful, and really makes this work well. Keeping the same 16x9 ratio, I tried cropping down a little from the top, and the fisherman overtakes the composition. It took me a while to fully appreciate maybe why you did it this way. It speaks much more to the spirit.

We love this Italian/Swiss region. I was first there in 1957, at age 13, so many memories. Each photo has much in it for us, if not for the new viewer, which memories all try to find their way into the photo, even if subconsciously.
The D60 produces JPGs at 12.9 x 8.5 @300 dpi, which doesn't crop well to 16 x 9, so I use a close approximation for the 16 x 9 ratio of 14 x 8, which displays virtually full screen for a slide show on an HDTV with very good resolution.
Thanks much for viewing, experimenting, and commenting.
