I've just acquired a (new to me) organic based image capture system. It operates independently of the operating systems on either Windows or Mac. It also provides nearly permanent archival storage of images.

You guessed it, it's a Pentax ME film camera!

I was browsing at ,my local camera store and saw a series of 5 Pentax cameras of various configurations. Looked at them and this one seemed to be calling my name. With a 50mm f.8 lens and a leatherette covering, it looked to be in great condition, so I bought it for about $100.

I'm running a roll of HP-5 through it now, so we'll see in a few weeks how well I did.

I assume you meant to say "50mm f1.8 lens". Hope your pictures turn out great and that you'll show them.

And I think you meant "analog" and not "organic", 'cause film ain't organic in any sense.

That said, enjoy! Hope you like the results! I to like to shoot a roll of film now and again.

How about semi-organic? "...a leatherette covering"

Well in that case, for a leather fetishist it could be semi-orgasmic!

I don't think the leatherette is organic or semi organic.

Well then tell it to Jerry - it was his idea!

The Pentax M series was/is a nice compact and capable line of cameras. And the wide range of exceptional Pentax lenses that you can find at bargain prices these days is amazing! I have all but the ME-F and MV, and my favorite is the MX - the fully manual version.

While B/W chemistry is inorganic by definition, the polymer film on which the emulsion is coated is definitely an organic polymer. That is how I interpreted the meaning of OP's comment

At $100, I think you paid a bit too much for it. A properly functioning Pentax ME with standard 50mm lens shouldn't cost more than $50. With a little patience, you can surely find one for around $30-35, maybe even less.
