Lens filter size

Does anyone know what filter size fits the Nikon P510, I have looked all over and even sent Nikon a question. They never answered, I also posted on Adorama and still no answers. Need help..

Look on the back of your lens cap. Most lens caps have a size in millimeters molded into them. This would be the thread diameter for filters as well. Most lenses have their filter diameter printed on them with the size and f/stop numbers.

I really don't think the P510 will accept standard filters - the P500 won't. On the P500, you can only attach the lens cap when the camera is turned off and the lens is fully retracted. I'd like to be able to use filters, too. What filter(s) are you considering using?

The P510 does not accept thread-on filters at all. It looks threaded at first glance, but they are just concentric rings to allow for pinch type lens caps to fit. There are aftermarket adapters available that I have seen, selling on Ebay from time to time, but I don't know how good they are.

I was told in 4 stores that the P510 does not accept filters.
