Low Angle Mallardsicles

It was a tad brisk today in the upper Mid-West and well below 32 degrees. Wind chill was around zero, and all the mallards at my local pond were converted to mallardsicles. They seemed happy enough, and so I tried some low angle shots as they sat on the ice or paddled around.

And yes, that frozen tundra was cold to lie on... I have no clue how these cute little guys survive.

Thanks, glad you liked them. And yes, feathers are one amazing insulation material; several nights down to wind chills of -50 don’t seem to have bothered these ducks.
