I like this Sue especially the little church peaking out behind the trees. You did a nice job.

Thank you. It's the Pine Grove Methodist Church which is a mile and a half from my house.

I like shots that show glimpses of scenes but I think this one might be just a bit too extreme (unless you were planning to print it VERY large).

The glimpse is so bleached out and its so obviously drawing our attention. Just think it should blend in and not jump out at us, and be something to discover within while viewing.

Wow--lots of foxtail in that cornfield--that will be a mess to harvest!

Seriously, nicely composed photo with the church peeking out at the camera.

The "bleached out" effect you mentioned is actually early morning mist combined with the sun illuminating the church from the left. Thanks for looking and taking the time to comment.

Edit - I looked at the image again and really, the whole thing was lacking in warmth and rather bleached out so I tweaked it a bit which seems to give a better tonal balance, although the foreground needs to be brightened a tad.

I have a bit of a love affair with that little country church which I've photographed from many angles - this one happened to intrigue me as it isolated it from the surrounding "civilization". Here's another view taken from the same location but on a different day that shows more of the church.

That small cornfield is actually planted for the deer each year and never harvested. Thanks for your comment, glad you liked it.
