We drove the Going to the Sun Road from east to west taking many photos. When we reached Lake MacDonald we stopped along several places for spectacular views. M wanted to wade in the water along a gravel beach where we found the water crystal clear and the gravel of many brilliant colors even about a foot below the surface.
At home while PP, we found that we had captured a gold nugget among the gravel.
Can you find it? We like to think that we missed something big time.
Nikon D60 JPG redo with ACR.
ISO 200, f/13, 1/200, 55mm (kit lens, handheld).
Best in download, critiques always welcome.
Not a critique. But in the late 90's we used to have a timeshare in Columbia Falls MT and the nearby Lake McDonald is my wife's favorite place ever. In fact, I have two prints in my study (on the wall next to my desk) one of the lake and a larger one of photographs taken in Glacier National Park. Sadly, neither taken by me as I wasn't into photography at that time. Envious.
I couldn't find the nugget, but I didn't have much incentive to find it.
Come on, this is a scam! You don't know if a nugget is there or not and you want all us to try and find one for you! Not a bad idea if you think about it!
Ok .., I work,with you .. , but now it’s time for a clue ...

Here's a guess. Upper right quadrant there is an oblong "skipping" stone with gold tones. That's not it. But to the right and up a little is a chunky stone that could be a piece of gold, or pyrite (aka fool's gold).
My thinking is Gold weighs more than rocks and would be underneath all that gravel.
Is this like "Where's Waldo"?
I did not find anything looking like a gold nugget. But did you pick up the diamond engagement ring from the lower left corner area of the photo. I can't help but wonder the circumstances of the probably young lady who accidentally dropped it there. Looks to be about a 1 carat, lovely diamond cut stone.

very close to the bottom and near the right side is my guess..
Thank you all for participating in the golden nugget quest.
What we like to think is the nugget is dead center in the photo. Have another look?
Here it is...goldish anyway the little piece in the center of the 3 bigger ones.
I'm going to buy a rock polisher/drum and hope to find a cache like those in your photo. One more thing to do in my idle time .
