I wouldn't touch it with a 10' barge pole.

In all reality, it already semi-exists in most Nikon DSLR cameras.

You know what Bob, it's pretty easy to be smug when you have no physical impairments that stands
between you and doing something you enjoy. I'm betting that if you were to suddenly develop some
impairment that Arsenal could help you overcome, you'd be first in line to get one, in fact, knocking
people down and running over 'em.

Let's see, "semi-exists," is that about the same thing as "half-assed?"

Well, ok, if you're gonna out "good samaritan" me I guess there's not much I can do for you.
I's just trying to be helpful thinking that since it's so, er uh, useless I'd give you a chance to cough that sucker up 'cause it sure seems to be stuck in your craw. You could at least get enough out of it for a six pack and a sack of pretzels there in SF. If you change your mind just send me PM and nobody'll ever know that Arsenal bit you twice.

You know, I didn’t ask you to do anything for me.

I’d rather donate it to a local high school (which I will) than to sell it to someone who is disingenuous.

Aww, I'm not being disingenuous at all. I's just kinda pokin' you in the ribs a little bit and my offer is good and stands as stated. I figure if it's useless to you it's not worth more'n about $50 to me but I really don't care what you do with it to be perfectly honest with you. If I had a preference I'd rather see you keep and use it. I have two now and that's really all I need but I'll always be glad to have a backup in case one of mine goes on the fritz. I can't imagine it being of much use to a school - maybe to add to the instructor's gear collection but they're not going to teach it in class, I wouldn't think. It's a bit advanced for that.

I'll be honest. I am not a fan of the product.... at $185. But, if anyone wants to dump theirs for $50 or even $60, PM me and let me know. It has enough other functionality that it is worth it at that price. Just for the stacking control.

And it could be fun to see what the AI says.

You rascal, you're already running up the bid on me. You must've read Trump's book on negotiating. What provokes my interest in this type product is physical necessity. Perhaps you've seen where I said I am a near fifty year diabetic with a lot of side-effect ailments in addition to some old injuries that keep me from walking more than a few feet, and unable to stand for more than just a few minutes at a time, or hold a camera up to shoot but for very short spurts. I would certainly prefer that I not have the physical issues I have but I don't intend to let them stop me from doing what I choose if I can find a way around them. I could more easily and inexpensively give up but that's not something I understand how to do.

If a person has no NEED for this item, I can certainly understand that lack of interest but if a person just wants it or is curious about it and wants to buy it, I have no problem with that either. If, on the other hand, something like this has become a necessity, the price isn't too much and if it'll help a person stay out of an assisted living arrangement, it's money real well spent, IMHO. I have to be sitting somewhere and I'd much rather be sitting in my car seat in the mountains with my camera on a tripod capturing images through my camera and tablet than sitting in front of the tv.

Comparing this with the few competitors currently available that I know about, CamRanger is most comparable and costs $299. You do get a Bescor motorized tripod head, which I already have, a module that facilitates wireless control, and an app that controls both your camera and the tripod head but I don't think it does any processing like stacking. Case Logic costs $150 and doesn't do any processing like stacking. It also only works with Canon and Nikon, not my Sony. Those three are the leaders in what they do, as far as I know but not to be negligent, there are other apps that allow a person to shoot remotely if their camera has built-in wifi or they have an add-on wifi hot spot, something that isn't always real simple to get to working well.

OK! OK! Will it help if I lower my offer to $55.00?

LOL. I wasn't able to shake any out at $50 so you may be on the right track.

I thank everyone for responding. I did preorder one at the end of March. I am still waiting to get it. I know that some of the things it does I can do with my camera or through editing, but it seems that just like a photo editing program, it can help create better pictures, and perhaps be a guide to those better shot. I am not a professional, and don't have the eye that some people have for taking the perfect shot. I know that with practice I will become better. I believe that for me, this can be a guide to taking better photos, and perhaps can be teach me the patience to take or create better photos.
