Good shots. These photos bring tears to this old man's eyes. I was born, 1943, and raised in the Bay Area. Back then "The City" was a magic place. As seen from where you stood to take the first photo, San Francisco's skyline would have been unique. Absolutely nothing unique about its subject. It could just as easy be the Chicago skyline shot from a boat in Lake Michigan.
The second photo is the one that really hurts. If you look in the lower right center of the photo you will see a small square building with a mast and an American Flag on top. That is the Ferry Building. At 255 feet tall it used to be the tallest building on the Embarcadero. The Ferry Building used to dominate the San Francisco waterfront. Now it is just another little building swallowed up by skyscrapers.
The third shot is really cool. Too bad it's not true. For we who love The City, not San Francisco, it would be a dream come true.
