How to sell some gear

I'm about to get back my newly purchased as a refurbished Nikon D3100 camera kit from Keh. The original complete kit has been broken up due to a mix-up in some extension tube threads. EX: (Nikon/Canon). No, They don't mix very well. I've also just received a brand new replacement lens, a Nikon 18x55mm G Dx af-s VR zoom...

My question is about how I should post these items for sale?
Would it be better to post as a kit or separately? Keh could not help as the original kit has been broken up! Therefore the pieces are the sum of trying to do the right thing to get refunds due to the newly recent nerve damage in both of my hands and arms. At this point, I'd really like to get my money back in any way possible!
So, What do the good members of UHH have to say about my questions to sell this gear? Does anyone have a ballpark price? I'll post ads on Amazon and UHH. Thank you for your time, Randy Hopkins

Are you talking about selling on ebay? I love doing that. All week I watch as the amount grows. In the meantime, I get it boxed and ready to go. Selling on ebay can be hit or miss because it all depends on who is bidding, and if there is someone bidding against him.

Go on ebay and do a search for what you have to sell. Click on "Watch this item." Notice how the sale of body and lens compares with separate sales. Selling to one person is convenient because you send out just one package and pay one set of commission.

I just sold a camera, and I included a lens that I didn't need. Potential buyers see that they are getting more for their money.

For somehting like a camera or lens I never have a reserve price because I know it will go for a good amount. Start at $0.99, and your fee will be slightly lower. Supposedly, having the auction end on Sunday night, after 6:00 PM Pacific Time is good because more people are home.

Keep in mind that both ebay and PayPal will take a cut of whatever you receive. PayPal even takes a percentage of the mailing cost, so don't go low on that. I weigh the package ahead of time and figure the cost to ship it to CA - Priority Mail. The PO has free boxes available. I also add insurance, so that raises the cost.

You have to decide what to do about shipping, which can be close to $20 for a camera and lens. Too high a shipping cost can turn some buyers off. See what others are charging. I once had ebay tell me that I was charging too much for shipping, and they made me lower it, although I was charging the actual post office price.

Jerry, I have seen Ebay and looked at some ads. I'm not very computer savy when it means putting an ad together for a sale. Listing a couple of items is one thing. My skills are very limited to posting an ad that must list everything and the toilet to someone to read and decide. Trying to list two or three pages of description on Ebay and my computer takes over and the cursor just hides in the middle of trying to type out a very long description.
I don't know how to copy or cut and paste with any skill. And yes and Ebay ad would be seen by a huge audiance! Thanks, Randy H. :-)
