Very beautiful, Larry and can remember as a youngster on our farm that there was many in several of our fields but haven't seen one for years!

Where I go, I am fortunate to be able to photograph them at great length !I lived in North Carolina for 14 years and never saw a meadowlark while there. It probably has to do with the terrain. They apparently do not like the forests.

No meadows, no Larks. Habitat loss is making them rare in the Eastern US. Haven't heard or seen one in 50 years

I seen them in my back yard when we first mover here over 45 years ago. Now never.
