If you get a refund, you are screwing yourself as you are giving the government an interest free loan throughout the year.
I have our witholding setup so that I always need to send the Fed and State small checks when I file.
I'm pretty happy with the outcome this year, keep in mind all of our real estate is paid off and our income is considered upper middle class.
We just filed our Fed and State this week, overall, salary and investments, we earned about 8% more in 18 than in 17, and our effective tax rate decreased approx. 2.3%.
I have our witholding setup so that I always need to send the Fed and State small checks when I file.
I'm pretty happy with the outcome this year, keep in mind all of our real estate is paid off and our income is considered upper middle class.
