No, it is not even remotely similar .....the Leofoto is a very SHORT tripod - made to be that way for special applications ....

You are right, the max height of the leofoto is around 38cm call it 18" the q666c is about a pound heavier and goes to 150cm.

Thank you for providing that link. Good information on the video and good presentation. I'm not new to gimbals and no doubt it is the ultimate solution; the V2 weighs around 2.2 pounds all inclusive, is relatively low profile, works well however the one with feet runs over $500.00 while the one without feet is about $350.00 (on sale) which is just out of my budget for now. I am new to video and have no aspirations to go professional- all for fun. I did sign up on the presenter's channel so maybe something else less costly will come around.

You must not have first-hand experience with Sirui heads - I actually own the K30X, and have tried the K20X and all of the G Series heads at B&H, and none of them have a smooth panning action. They are all "crunchy" when you release some of the tension enough to pan the head. At first I thought I thought the new K20X I ordered from B&H online was defective, so I returned it, went up to the sales floor and tested all of their heads. They all seemed to have the same problem, so I opted for the K30X and took it home. It's a fine head otherwise, but not suitable at all for application Suntouched has in mind.

My Arca-Swiss Z1 ball head is absolutely silky-smooth and buttery in it's panning movement. But it's also close to $400 these days. Most of the other "budget" manufacturer's heads suffer from creep and fail to lock securely with even mid-weight lens/camera combinations (like a full frame body and a 70-200 F2.8), and still have enough of a "sweet spot" to allow a slightly lower friction adjustment so that you can move the camera and release it without it creeping. See attached video with a full frame camera and a 150-600 on the K30X.

The Sirui heads that I am referencing are video/fluid heads NOT ball heads. I bought the VH-10 version and am using it on my monopod currently - and I do like it and I do appreciate the smooothness !

I'm on the hunt for a lightweight, buttery smooth, reasonably priced (around 300.00) panning monopod head to use for video. I don't care so much if it is a ball head or pan head as long as the panning motion has a separate control. I looked all afternoon today, including topics in UHH and what I found was heavy and cheap or lighter and very expensive (>500.00). I have a manfrotto pan that seems to have tightened up beyond being smooth and a Siru and Desmond that don't have the pan mode and both are too tight. By lightweight I mean < than 2 pounds. Don't get me wrong- cheap and good are ok lol.

The only thing I found is the RRS table top pod with micro panning ball head. And it just comes in at budget.

Anything I missed on my search?

Hi Suntouched (Hope you are doing well).... I recently bought one of these for casual use... I really like the Fluid Head, and since it's Amazon, it's easy to buy, easy to return (should one want to)!! The Tri-pod/monopod is fine, seems pretty sturdy, is rated for 26lbs, holds my big lenses with no worries, and Fluid Head very smooth, good for video too. Price is very good. Check it out. Good hunting, mike

Ah, I should have looked at your links. Duh-uh. My bad.

But on first look, 2 lbs seems to be a bit heavy for her application, don't you agree? Suntouched already has an excellent Acratech ball head, which either weighs 12 oz or 16 oz depending on model. However, I just noticed this thread is a year old, and I'm certain she's gotten what she needs by now.
