Went to an open house at the Wildlife Center today and to my utter surprise, they have an Eagle Owl - gorgeous creature ! I do not know the story behind it , but tomorrow, I may find out as they are supposed to bring him out again at that time ....in which case, I may get more/better image of him (or, her) and I will post them also. These guys are supposedly rare on this side of the Atlantic ! ??

Nice shot. Just wondering....why do they call it an eagle owl? Why not just an owl?
Beautiful bird, great shot!!
Never heard of an Eagleowl, but it’s a great looking bird
Beautiful shot Larry. I was lucky enough to see one of these once. It was perched atop a tree, and at first I didn't know what it was, but when he moved, I saw what was the biggest owl I have ever seen. He was the size of a Toddler.
Thanks to all for your visit and comments, Could not find the owl today - but I will keep after it.....
This is essentially a Great Horned Owl on steroids ! - and very interesting 8-)
