Somewhere in the back of my brain I remembered a bunch of filters that I bought from a pawn shop for $10 a few years back. I seemed to remember one filter that was far too big for any of my lenses and went looking through the SPS (strategic photo supplies, i.e. the junk box). Yes, there was a brand new Tiffen 72mm UV filter. I cleaned it up with some Scrubbing Bubbles and dried it off with a micro cloth. It screwed right on, so now I have a little lens protection until the lens cap arrives from Amazon. While I was at it I went through the menus to see where the white balance was set (auto), and reset the ISO to 200.
Shortly after, the clouds began to break up a bit. I took the K20D and went out in the back yard. I was joined by our foster dogs, Angus, Boulder, and Peyton and spent 20 minutes walking around and snapping a shot here and there until the clouds came back.
I learned I have to be faster when trying to get a shot of Mr. Cardinal but otherwise had a great time.
Have I mentioned how much I love KEH?
