The instructions say that the that a DR-4 or DR-5 will fit. Does anybody know if the older models will also fit? It looks like the threaded eyepiece is the same as the older cameras, but I don't have one to check.
I will likely use it only rarely and don't want to spend a ton.
Thanks in advance!
I'm guessing "No". Even though the Df looks like an FE/FM series camera, they took a DR-3. If Nikon came out with a DR-4 for the Df, must have been a change somewhere along the way.

You’ll need a DK-7 ring to fit the older DR-3.
I have the Df and the DR5. It fits. The 4 is different. My understanding, when purchasing, was that the 4 is for the likes of the D4, F3hp, etc and is out of production. A new one will cost $200. Eye relief/positioning is fussy until you get used to it. Diopter adjustment is precise and effective. If you’re rarely going to use it I’d go on a hunt for a used one. Adorama has a used one rated E for $159 advertised.
