Hi There,

I am 65 and a small woman. I've had two right shoulder surgeries and Im right handed and shoot with my right hand. I only shoot hand held.

This is a great lens but is heavy however, you definitely get used to the weight. I also purchased a Blackrapid shoulder harness that is amazing! Its totally interchangeable and can hold two cameras at one time.

I would check it out. Its a great help to me as I can let the camera with lens attached hang down securely at my side to give my arm a rest.

Good Luck!

I'm 83 and I hand-hold mine with the D800e attached with good results.

To all who handhold the Nikon 200-500 lens: do you use the tripod foot and remove it?

Turn it so the foot is on top. Too much movement if held by the foot. Hold the lens underneath with your left hand toward the front of the lens, keep your elbows against your body, take a breath and breath out slowly while 'rolling' your index finger onto the shutter release. By rolling your finger you'll help with any vertical camera movement.

Why not just take the tripod foot off?

I use it to carry around the lens, in fact, I added a holding handle made by film city. Cost about $20.00. Works great.

I do not remove it since I often go from tripod to hand held.

I ordered one. Interesting site. Their price was $19. Shipping was $12. The link to amazon took me to the same item for $100 plus shipping!

I took the link which took me to ProAim. There was a link on that page to Amazon where I found the $100 price. Back at Proaim it was still 19.95 plus about $12 for SHI, so it's on the way. Anxious to try it.

I'm confused. Is the camera lens support carry handle orderable from Cine City or Pro Aim at the $19.xx price? The Amazon link is $100. I am unwilling to put my credit card information out on an international site. So my question: is this order able through a Canadian or USA site at the $19.xx price? Thank you for helping.
