Great looking pack. How did you manage to get them to sit still? My boys rarely sit still together. My avatar is "Buddy" a rescue like the rest of the pack.

Thank you kdogg All 3 of the dogs have gone to obedience classes over the years (I LOVE taking classes and highly recommend them to everyone) so they all listen pretty good and get wonderful rewards when doing as asked. Caiden and Karma haven't been to classes in quite a while, but Penny our rescue and I love classes and we continue to go to classes and do some competing in sports events. Our canine obedience school is like my second home and I spend a lot of time there. I take photos of the students to keep up with my photography practice (as I work a full time job) and maintain the obedience schools website and fb page. It's a win-win for everyone Many thanks again for the kind words.

Sensorloupe asked to see the gang and I've posted a few photos of them separate, but here is my gang all together. Love them all very, very much! For the newer folks who have recently joined us (and we are all very happy to have you with us!!) ♥
Karma, my Blue Merle Aussie-10 yrs. old, Penny, our little rescue Shitzu mix-5 yrs. old, and then Caiden, my tri-colored Aussie-11 yrs, who started me on a journey of wanting to improve my photography

Love 'em all. Great photo! I've had 4 Aussies, 3 blue merles and one red merle. They have to be the smartest dogs I've ever seen. Never had to potty break a one of them...they just took care of that themselves and learn everything I wanted to teach them on just one try....BUT I was allergic to their dander. I kept the cough drop business healthy until the last one passed and then the coughing stopped IMMEDIATELY!

Hi Jo, you're right about them being super smart. Karma is wonderful to work with, if I have treats -no treats and she will basically stick her tongue out at you and tell you to take a hike She really didn't like doing the sports competition, but LOVES people so we did therapy work for around 3 years until I messed my shoulder up and had to have surgery. I still take her to events though where she can have her fill of people. Caiden is also very intelligent, and as my very first Aussie, he was a bit over the top, that is what got us into obedience classes to begin with, I threatened to send him back on a weekly basis to the breeder I think he would have excelled in obedience but he pushed my patience to the breaking point. We spent a lot of years in classes, and he still goes back occasionally to this day. Is he perfect, heavens no, he has some quirks, but we've worked so hard to get to this place in our lives, he will be the one that tears my heart out when his time comes. When we are in class, those students that are struggling are told to look at Caiden and I as a prime example, don't give up The students are always amazed when they see us together and are told our story of my leaving class, sitting in my car crying because I had the most wild dog in class, but we came back every week, worked really hard and I have a dog I love more than life. They are truly a wonderful breed, all of them are different as night and day, and they aren't for everyone. A lot of research needs to be done on their behavior and if it's a right fit for your household. That is why so many of them end up in shelters or rescue. They have tons of energy and they need to have a job to keep them out of trouble. I'm so glad you were able to enjoy the breed and if you have any photos from your past gang, I would love to see them. ♥

You are right. They are not for everyone. They have to RUN...A LOT! We have 13 acres here for one to run on with horses to keep them busy. My red merle could load a stubborn horse in 30 seconds. If it kicked at her, she'd do it in 10 seconds. Her name was Cookie and she was so eager to please. She was never hiper because she worked off all her energy at the barn.

Oh Jo, she was beautiful, but aren't all Aussies? I'm so glad you had Cookie and the others in your life. I know it's a long time off yet, but I'm tossing back and forth for my next dog to be another Aussie or a Collie. My life long dream has always been to have a Collie, but I know how much Aussies are capable of, and I do love them so and hope to continue competing for as long as I can. No sense worrying about it now though Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful girl with me and would love to see the rest of your beauties ♥

I have had a Collie and many other breeds. They are so sweet, as are most dogs of any breed, but to me, there is nothing like an Aussie. Dogs seem to be the most loyal beings on earth, so any dog who loves you is a winner. At my age (81), the ones I have now, both rescues, will be my last dogs.
OK, I already posted my "beasties" but here they are in case you missed them.

Penny, my little rescue is the one I compete with now, and she really does give it her all. I love her madly when it comes to working with a pup who really wants to please me, I think she may have a little bit of Aussie in her (just kidding) but she really does love being with me and gives it her all.

Whoever had her before (either a puppy mill and she just didn't turn out right-or someone who just didn't want to take the time) really lost out when they dumped her. She was around 8.5 months old, in heat, had a baby tooth that needed to be pulled, a hernia, and nails that hadn't been cut in months. She was a bit of a mess, but I'm so glad she turned out to be our little mess ♥ ♥
