Hi cboysen,
This is my first reply since i became a member :)
I wanted to give you just a few words about the way i decided upon my digital camera: First, i had (still have) a film camera. So when I decided to have a new camera, I decided to keep FF so I could use my old lenses much in the same way they were meant to be used. Also, I like mechanics and optics and manual focusing (I do not do anything fast, like sports - I prefer nature, cityscapes, macro, etc.), so i also wanted an optic viewfinder (I already spend too much time facing computers or mobiles screens, so I can do without another electronic screen). Then, most of my old lenses are Pentax (and just 2 of the missed Contax brand). So, for me, all things considered, I was then faced upon one option: The K1. I have it since not long ago and I am still learning it, but I am really really enjoying that camera. And the way I am setting it allows me to just do this: Compose, focus (left hand), the right index finger adjusts the speed and the thumb the aperture, and then shoot. Never leaving the eye from the viewfinder (if I mess things too much and get lost, I just press a green button that sets a correct aperture and speed and then I just start all over again). I don't even need the back LCD turned on (too much light into my face and eye). This is simple enough for me and the way I like taking photos. This is not meant to argue against anything else, is just a point of view of the criteria i used for me. Maybe it helps a bit.
What ever you do or buy, enjoy it ;)

I recently handeled both Nikon and Canon newest mirrorless cameras. Not very much difference in size and weight from their DSLR siblings.

Also checked out the P1000, this think is an armfull, it is bigger than a breadbox.

The P1000 falls in a totally other category of cameras, that was not subject of this post.
