A Friend of the Christmas Owl

While shooting the Owl that has been hanging around, on and off since Christmas Day, this little critter hung around and watched me. It would take a couple of steps and then stop every time it heard the shutter click, staring at me as though trying to figure it all out. It was probably about 5 to 10 yards from me and not at all intimidated by my presence in the woods.

Did you ask him if he recommended any particular new cars (as the CarFOX)?

Good catch - I would be cautious when a wild animal such as a fox displays no fear of a human.

Thank you. I would not say it had NO fear. It kept a healthy distance - I was looking for any potential for an attack, since we have had intermittent rabies reports among raccoons in the area, over the past year. But it did not simply run when it saw me. Kept its distance and watched me for a fair amount of time.

Beautiful fox, but a friend? of the owl. Uhh, no. He'd rather invite Mr. Christmas Owl to dinner.

Great capture. It is in the fox's nature to be curious. I had several close encounters with them even darting around with a juvenile in play. vz

Actually, the fox seemed to be unaware of the owl and walked right below the perch. The owl opened its eyes and seemed to be thinking about going on the attack, itself. The word "friend" was used loosely, without doubt.
