Thank You Sir !!
I only regret not staying in longer.

I stayed for 20 years in the Army -- some good years, some not so good, but I'm very glad I stayed, retired in 1975.

One of my favorites: You will always miss 100% of the shots not taken.

I am like you. I stayed for 20+ years in the Army. I spent half of my time in the fild and half at national HQ. I enjoyed a lot and there was times I wanted to tell the Army #@$& and what to do with it. But always glad to see orher Vets.

As a thirty year man I do believe you mis-spoke concerning the "16" fire at once move a heavy cruiser side ways about 400 yards "

United States Heavy Cruiser's largest guns were only
8"/55 caliber. Only Battleships carried 16" batteries. And even they were never moved sideways more than a few yards when all turrets fired in uninson

Are marine snipers like regular marines? It takes six regular marines to do what a soldier does, i.e. one to shoot, 2 to root, and 3 to take pictures.

Perhaps, but Marines hit what they shoot at, whether with a rifle, or a camera. . . . . .

You are very welcome, but please do not call me "Sir". I was an enlisted man and served proudly.

Anyone who served is a Sir in my book, and deserves the respect that the word Sir brings them
