Fun and creative, Phil! I love poetry but have no ability to compose it.

Thanks Carol! Several years ago two friends and I formed what we called, with affection, the bad poets society....membership is open. I have read a lot of Mary Oliver this past few days.

Haven't seen one of these in this section since 2016. I was playing with this Egret photo when my dear partner walked by, she took a quick look at my monitor and said, "hummm, looks like a thousand points of light". That was all the motivation I needed to attempt another bad Haiku. I have enjoyed the posts on UHH that have combined photos and poetry. If you are interested do a search for Haiku or Haiga.

The poem certainly fits the composition and I really enjoyed your imaginative treatment of the bird. Many times, when shooting and processing birds, sharpness and clarity are the guiding attributes. You chose texture, and it really works well.

Thank you Erich. The push/pull between sharpness and texture was at the center of this effort. Not my usual path and I appreciate your comment to that point. I also value your contribution to this section, it has made a difference!
