at our friends house, we had to abide by the rules of that house,
and if we broke those rules, our friends parents had complete
authority to discipline as necessary.)

Fast forward a few years - when my daughter started kindergarten at the Christian school in 1990 she was told that if she ever got spanked for misbehaving there that she would get another when she got home. I guess that warning made an impression b/c she was never spanked at school!
