You mean like my grandfather's faded print of a big crowd around an airplane at the local fairgrounds? No names, no captions, and it even took a magnifying glass to recognize the aviator and his wife who touched down there. You might have heard of them... Charlie and Anne.

Have you run the films through the projector to see what is most important for your pupose. Or is the film too age brittled.
Don't know about the 16mm, but why not buy a film scanner and scan the photos yourself.
It may take you a bit of time, but it certainly would be a lot less. If you have the time.
