Last fall Adobe updated many of their instruction manuals. Oddly they don't seem well distributed or publicized. All are available for .pdf download.

Photoshop, Photoshop Elements, Lightroom Classic, Lightroom CC and all the video editing programs are included.

Anybody using them?

No. The Adobe Encyclopaedia manuals, I have found, are expensive and difficult to use. If you are looking for suggestions, Scott Kelby, Tony Northrop are great. BUT, you can find any help you want be searching on the YouTubes.

I have retained them because they are searchable, but other, third-party books are more readable.

The ones I'm talking about are free to download.

Adobe's instructions for all their softwares are the most distributed and publicized of the kind!

I have poked around on the Adobe site quite a bit and I didn’t know of the existence of the instruction manuals you refer to. I would like to give them a look. Can you post a link to the manuals?

Ok I found these:

https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/archive.html

https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/user-guide.html

https://helpx.adobe.com/lightroom/user-guide.html

Adobe calls them User Guides. Are these what your are referring to? First link above proides a list of PDF format manuals. The other two are HTML format. Is that what you were referring to?

I find that there's a youtube video for anything I want to know about Photoshop or Premiere Pro. I'll watch the video, pause it and perform the actions myself while watching. I find this the best way to learn any feature of Photoshop or Premiere pro.

If you have a link for a PDF version for PS, I wish you'd post it. I am familiar with the user guide that must be used online, but I'd like to have a downloadable PDF document for reference to keep on my tablet if there is one.

I've read the LR manual twice, front to back, and got Adobe certified for LR. They can be found at the top of the program under help for specific items or, as you note, in a pdf format on the Adobe website.

UHH rules prevented me from posting links in the first post! Maybe I'll still get bumped and burned!

2057 pages of documentation you can print!!!

Photoshop CC (976 Pages, updated Oct 15, 2018): https://helpx.adobe.com/content/dam/help/en/pdf/photoshop_reference.pdf
Photoshop Elements (276 pages, updated Feb 2, 2018): https://helpx.adobe.com/pdf/photoshop-elements_reference.pdf
Elements Organizer: ( 193 pages, updated Feb 2, 2018): https://helpx.adobe.com/pdf/elements-organizer_reference.pdf
Lightroom Classic CC (373 pages, updated Oct 15, 2018): https://helpx.adobe.com/content/dam/help/en/pdf/lightroom_reference.pdf
Lightroom (cloud) CC (152 pages, updated Oct 15, 2018): https://helpx.adobe.com/content/dam/help/en/pdf/lightroom_cc_reference.pdf
Bridge CC: (87 pages, updated Oct 15, 2018): https://helpx.adobe.com/content/dam/help/en/pdf/bridge_reference.pdf

For anyone that wants them, I've got links to the video programs too. (Premiere Pro, Premiere Elements, Rush, After Effects, Encoder)

Adobe seems to be shifting on to a more fluid, online help system. These links maybe the last printable "books". The Elements instructions are for last year's version. And, I think Photoshop and both the Lightrooms have some minor additions since these were released.

No, these are free. But, they are detailed and challenging to use.

I prefer the video lesson interface too. I like Linda.com/Linkedin Learning. The full courses are more organized that the random and piecemeal approach of most YouTube channels.

Adobe's been putting up their own and you can get to them through the Help menu. Look for "Tutorials".

The Photoshop Help > Tutorials will lead you here: https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/tutorials.html?mv=product&mv2=ps#

The Premiere Pro Help > Tutorials will lead you here: https://helpx.adobe.com/premiere-pro/tutorials.html?mv=product&mv2=pr#
