George Mason University students blamed President Donald Trump for the government shutdown, in a Campus Reform video released Friday.

Many called for Trump to compromise with the Democrats to end the five-week shutdown, but were surprised when they learned he already made offers and it was turned down by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi.

Trump’s proposal included Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) protections for children brought into the U.S. by i*****l i*******ts, 2,750 new border agents and law enforcement professionals, and $800 million in urgent humanitarian aid in exchange for $5.7 billion for the border wall.

“They should allow some funding for the wall for now, if Trump were to agree to some of [Democrats’] terms as well,” one student said to Campus Reform.

Many students were shocked when they learned Trump already made the proposals that would appeal to Democrats.

“I’m pleasantly surprised he offered those things,” one student said.

“I’m obviously behind it,” another student at the Virginia school said. “Last time I checked, it said 31-day shutdown.”

One student added that Pelosi should “have an open mind.”

Deferred action on DACA from Trump is worthless. SCOTUS already declined to hear that case which effectively left it in effect for the next two years. His just giving away ice in a snowstorm.
I'd give him zero for the wall. If you want to increase border security, enforce laws regarding people overstaying their visas and monitoring the border through means other than this useless wall, I can be on board.
Until then. No dice.

Please tell me how SCOTUS can reject an offer that was announced days ago? But, that is besides the point, Trump offered the compromise and Pelosi rejected it.

Heroin does not enter the US from Visa overstaying. About 15,000 deathS in 1917 were attribyted to heroin overdose. Most of the heroin crosses the southern border. If a wall is only 20% effective in stopping heroin import--3,000 people will not die. If 1 of those kids was yours, You would scream for a wall. Part of the poblem is that LAWS regarding i*****l i*********n are NOT enforced by the various states. If those laws would be engforced we would not need a wall, but they are ignored so we need that wall.

Your question is ignorant. I didn't call you stupid, I called the question ignorant, as in uninformed. It should be very easy for you to figure out.

So what you're saying is there's a National Emergency that he's doing nothing about but will do something about it in three weeks because it's apparantly not an emergency that would require immediate action, but one of those rare emergencies that you don't have to handle because there's no danger or emergency?
Very Trumpian of you.

Here’s what I’m saying ... he made the same mistake as RWR and GHWB in that he has trusted the D Congress to live up to their word.

You'll notice that this Heroin was NOT stopped in Nogales, AZ where there already is a wall. A wall did not make ANY difference. AND it was found 137 miles away from the border.
