A little corn patch amongst the sugarcane.

I was poking around some sugarcane fields when I came across this tiny corn patch. There is no house in sight but obviously it belongs to someone. Downloading is recommended.

In general, how many ears does one dorn plant produce. Does that little strip feed how many people how many meals. Might it be just lunch for a coupla days.
It's enjoyable to see the quirkiness of unusual human behavior. The first shot, perhaps cropped on the right for overall balance and post processed with care is worth hanging or entering because of its uniqueness of subject and composition.

my Dad used to grow corn, in melbourne, in his veggie garden during WW2. With the two apple trees, the vegies and the fowls, we were never much hungry for good food. (Thanks Dad)
Really nice set. I do like that "blonde wig" effect of the tassel.

usually one ear per plant. seldom two. that patch may make one good meal for a small family. maybe not. poor pollination with only one row. we always planted at least 4 rows of each variety in our small garden patches.
It looks as if someone wants some sweet corn for dinner. Nice photo, Earl.

Very good set Earl, especially like the last shot.

If hunting is allowed in the area, it might be bait for the fall hunting season.
